No such thread, I thought I'll start one.
I tried tomato-NDUSB-9044MIPSR2-beta06u.04-Ext.trx but I had to fall back to DD-WRT because I had this major issue:
- WAN is working only a few hours after flash. Then it's dropped and it never comes back up again - not even if I flash the firmware or erase the NVRAM completely.
Minor issue found:
- there are two MAC address editboxes on the web UI where you assign static DHCP addresses and the UI does not state that the upper box is for LAN, the lower is for WLAN.
It would be great if someone could fix at least the WAN drops and the inability to renew it as this bug defeats the entire purpose of the router.
Thank you.
Regarding the two addresses It allows you to allocate, for instance, the same IP to both the LAN and Wireless card of a particular computer, depending which one is in use. Just ignore the second one if you don't have a use for it.
Hi Brandon,
so, it's a feature rather than a bug.
Good to know; I updated my original message accordingly.
I guess this is the place for reporting issues we are having?
I am using the firmware, tomato-K26USB-1.27.9045MIPSR2-beta10-Ext , released on 4/12/2010.
I have installed the firmeware on my Netgear WNR3500L, and it seems to be working great, exept the LED light for internet is amber, and the wireless LED is not showing anything. The wireless and internet still work, just no LEDs. So I think it is a minor issue.
The LED issues has been a problem on the last few beta's teddy_bear has released. But from what I have read I think they have have figured it out.
Hopefully the next Beta compile he does will have it fixed.
