DHCP static; USB not working on WNR3500L

Hi, I bought WNR3500L on wednesday, being a linux geek today I flashed it with DD-WRT .chk file available from downloads, then flashed with DD-WRT big bin. I always did a 30-30-30 restart before and after the update process. Everything seemed to be okay untill I tried to use static DHCP. If I go to Services and try to set Static leases, it saves the configuration, but my clients don't get any IP address from the DHCP server, nor default gw, nor DNS info. DHCP start IP adress is set to 192.168.0.5 and I'm trying to statically alocate 192.168.0.2-4. If I delete static leases, everything works okay, but I just don't like it this way...

Another problem is USB support, I did everything what this tutorial and this tutorial said, but I can't see anything in /dev/scsi or /dev/usb. I've checked dmesg and lsmod and it seems USB modules load, but I just can't see any of my devices (external disk with swap and two partitions formated ext3, vfat usb key). It seems to me, that the USB port is just off whatever I try...

Can anybody help or should I just try another firmware? (DD-WRT seems to me the best, because of wifi 802.11/n support)

Not sure about the static lease problem. Maybe adjust the range to include the static ips (shot in the dark). Since the leases are static, it should not assign those ips to any other client.

As for the USB issue, after pulling my hair out for a week, I think I got it... Push the power button on the back of the router (off, wait 10 sec, on). You would think that the 30/30/30 would do it but I had to use the button to finally make it work.

Thanks, pushing the power

Thanks, pushing the power button really enabled the usb port :) I think this should be added to how-tos for flashing WNR3500L with DD-WRT.

As for the other issue, I will investigate it further, because I first tried the range to include static IPs (which didn't work) and only after failure tried to not use static IPs in the DHCP range... Maybe the power button magic also solved this issue, I'm going to try it on monday.

so the conclusion is = yes, I have tried with static IPs not included  in DHCP range, only after it did not work for me the first way. Actually it should work both ways, as I have configured other routers/firmwares the same way.

I tried again to include

I tried again to include static IPs in range today and after I clicked Reboot Router and the router rebooted itself, static DHCP just started to work, so maybe the reboot and power off was necessary. Anyhow it works now, so thank you all for help.
