Total noob guide - to torrent client on the Netgear ?

Sorry, but I have read quite alot of posts already and cant seem to find a clear link to or explanation of the usage of a bittorrent client on the wnr3500.

In combination with an attached storage device.. Can someone help me out and either give me a link to clear info or send me a mail with info ?

Thanks in advance

:) I am waiting for my

:) I am waiting for my netgear to arrive. I want to use it to share large video files with some friends overseas that are also video enthousiasts.

So the usage would be to have the torrent client running on the router itself so my video editing system can stay powered off (power savings). I have heared that is possible with some Asus firmwares.

Thanks in advance for Tips or info

Additionally I found a press

Additionally I found a press release which tells me that their is a good chance Netgear would have or, at least, supports the usage of bittorrent client on the router.

Since I'm missing a few apps

Since I'm missing a few apps too. I currently plan to setup my own ipkg repository. I have installed a few apps with ipkg from the default locations provided by dd-wrt firmware, but most of them don't work without modifying startup scripts, some apps are outdated etc., others don't work at all due to differences in uClibc etc.

My idea is to preconfigure all apps to run inside /jffs dir, this way it should be absolutely easy for a novice to get an run apps for dd-wrt. I have already setup a machine for building dd-wrt firmware, next step is to compile and package a few apps.

That would be great, been

That would be great, been trying to read up on everything and im starting to have a bit of an overview what to do when i finally get my router. But for a novice like me, with no prior experience in linux, it is quite a task.
So any fool proof install guide would be great :) and or precompiled .... stuff would be great :)

Yes, I am trying to figure

Yes, I am trying to figure out how to do this as well. I have linux experience but I mainly use ubuntu so I am not really an expert on compiling stuff.

I was hoping I can do this on Tomato firmware.. Any hints on where to look?

I have completed a set of

I have completed a set of packages among them a torrent client, I have not yet tested the torrent client, but most of the other packages I provide have been tested under dd-wrt with removable media mounted on /jffs.

I just have to write some detailed instructions on how to install, run and configure these apps.

I haven't tested the torrent client, but feel free to test it. If you follow the guides on the linked site you will be able to install ctorrent. Just make sure you installed the package profile first, which will preload some libs that are usually needed.
