Changing the Wan Mac Address & VOIP & VLAN Support

Hi,

I would like to replace my ISP router called "Livebox" with the WNR3500L. To do that I need a router where I can change the WAN mac Address as my ISP authenticates part of my connection with the mac address. I also need VLAN and VOIP Support.

As far as I read I’ve noticed that WNR3500L supports VLAN using one of the Open Source Firmware but I didn’t find any information about the possibility of changing the WAN Mac Address nor VOIP support.

Could you please tell me if it is possible to change the Wan Mac Address and if it supports VOIP using one of the Open Source Firmware?

Thanks,
Best Regards,
Olims

Hi,

Hi,

I've looked around about the possibility to change the Wan Mac address (also
know as "Router MAC Address) and I found on an other site it seems that
this functionality is implemented on DD-WRT Firmware. Could someone confirm please?

I've read about the VLAN management that the router is only able to manage VLAN
from 0 to 15 because of the Boradcom ship inside the router. The point is that
the VLAN I have to deal with are 835; 838; 840; 851. See (post N°2
http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=395544&highlight=&sid=496e6...).
As My English is quite bad could someone confirm that too please?

About the VOIP support I didn't find any info about it yet, but I'm still
looking for, so I you have something please let me know.

Best Regards,
Olims.

I have an astersik server

I have an astersik server behind the router. It works great using the nat=yes option. The router also provides SIP ALG if that is what you meant.

Hi guys,

Hi guys,

First I would like to thank you for the answers.

Tathagata,
Sorry for my English it's not very good but I'll try to explain better what I mean:
I Would like to know if I can manage my incoming/outgoing VOIP calls with the WNR3500L. Or verry simply, will my IP phone works if I connect it to one of the WNR3500L port ? (and using proper firmware)

Just to add that my ISP is Using H323 protocol for now but will switch to SIP during this year.

I hope I made myself more clear, if not just let me know.

Once you change to SIP, I

Once you change to SIP, I think you will find the management of your calls to be easier.  Still, the wnr3500L port should be fine and capatible with your IP phone in the meantime. try it Inexpensive Business VoIP System Conference Call
