3500L no better than old linksys wireless G modem

I just received and hooked up my new 3500L and the reception is only MILDLY better at best over my old linksys wireless G router.  I was under the impression that the range was supposed to be SO MUCH BETTER!!   Is this router still any good or should I have bought the new linksys e3000 or Netgear wndr3700?

That just may be the problem.

That just may be the problem. I guess I just assumed it would be a drastic improvement on all bands. So I guess that the other two modems I listed would have the same results as well?

The WNR3500 also offers 1 GB

The WNR3500 also offers 1 GB wired speeds and USB support.
But if you don't need wireless N, 1GB wired and USB then you might as well stay with the Linksys.

Same here. I had a WRT54GL

Same here. I had a WRT54GL running tomato, which allowed me to bump the radio signal up a notch. There are many APs around me (I live in an apt) all at channel 6 or 11, so I'm on channel 1 all by myself. I used to get great signal in my living room at 54Mbps, now it's down to 11Mbps with this new router... I'll probably disable the wifi on the Netgear router since I don't have any N clients, and daisy chain my old WRT54GL for my wireless needs.
