Hi Kong,
Is it possible for you to integrate scsi-stop as described here: http://tomatousb.org/tut:spin-down-usb-disks-when-not-used into your DD-WRT custom compilations?
I would love to use your version of DD-WRT modifications however when I have previously used this I can never spin down the attached USB HDD after a period of inactivity. Presently this feature does not seem to work in DD-WRT based firmwares.
I could then put SWAP and /opt on a flash drive sda and spin down 2TB sdb on /mnt after a period of inactivity.
Many thanks, Chris.
How about this one:

Does this solution with sysfs:
http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=46516&postdays=0&postorder=...
work for you? I usually have a stick attached so I cannot always test this.
Hi Kong, yes this works well - thanks for this.
The only strange thing is that when I previously used sd-idle it would spin up the drive in 10 seconds whereas with the sysfs it seems to take 5 minutes upwards.
Ok, so you would prefer sd-idle directly into added to dd-wrt firmware?
If this is possible that would be very good yes.
Best regards,
Chris.
