Hi Kong,

Hi Kong,
I have a general question about DD-WRT. How were you able to get it to compile? Other developers have told me to give up trying because it is impossible with the sources from the DD-WRT svn.

Thanks
Skykingstlmo

Current sources + linaro

Current sources + linaro toolchain works fine. If there is a build problem I always report that, just watch trac.

Thanks for the quick reply.

Thanks for the quick reply. I will investigate the linaro tools. I saw them but was unsure which toolchain to use. I am unsure what build instructions to follow. There is a "tutorial" but it does not work. I get unresolved file references in the source (bcmevent.h is missing in include.v23 for instance). How did you resolve these?
Thanks for your time.

I just noticed, that minidlna has a bug and fails to index video files. Music and Pictures work fine.

NMBD is not included since

NMBD is not included since there is no working version for this samba release right now. Although BS added nmbd code to svn it is not yet working.
If you start nmbd first, smbd refuses to start and vice versa. I don't think it is a big issue but it needs work.

@Dark_Shadow,

@Dark_Shadow,

no I'm currently debugging the minidlna bug.

Update: I finally found the bug. The bug was located in ffmpegs memory handling functions.

I'm going to update and test my dlna build now. If it works well I'll upload the new build within the next few hours

OK, flashed and tested the minidlna build, works fine now.

All builds are compiled now with gcc 4.5.2 + uClibc 0.9.32.

The links for my builds

The links for my builds always stay the same, so the above links already point to the fixed 17140 build. Thus in case someone finds some links from older threads he will always get the latest working/tested release.

The bug I fix affected only

The bug I fix affected only the minidlna build. So for now no change to the vpn build.

Thank you for 17140. I

Thank you for 17140. I installed the VPN version (since I use PS3 media server on a server connected to the Ethernet switch) and it is working great on my WNR3500L. I can't comment on the WiFi performance because it is turned off on the main router (WNR3500L). It is nice that DDNS is fixed on your build which was not working in eko-17084 and BS-16994. Thanks again!

Thanks Kong! Now your build

Thanks Kong! Now your build runs on belkin f7d4301/f7d8301 and f7d4302/f7d8302. It should run on other new belkin routers too. This is really an amazing build that you work so hard on and let everyone enjoy. Thanks again and keep up the great work!

Hi Iloverman,

Hi Iloverman,

I've seen something similar yesterday, since this didn't happen with my previous release I guess this comes from commit http://svn.dd-wrt.com:8000/changeset/17028

I changed Mimo Transmission Fixed Rate to a fix value instead of Auto and that seems to work.

Kong:

Thanks for your great work. I just loaded miniDLNA build from eko's 17084big.

I also had previously installed Frater's OTRW. I notice that when I reboot, samba from Frater's OTRW loads but miniDLNA does not. Then when I go mannually and hit apply on under Services>NAS (where miniDLNA shows enabled) then miniDLNA starts. Seems like Samba and miniDLNA don't start up together well.

Second issue I have is that I am unable to access the miniDLNS web interface using 192.168.1.1:8200. Please point me in the right direction to fix this.

Hi zoomlink,

Hi zoomlink,

there should not be a problem starting samba and minidlna together, Minidlna however may stop if you have lots of mediafiles on your external drive and have configured to store the index db in ram, which is the default if no db path is set.

You should set the DB path under Services->NAS->DLNA Server->DB Path to the path of your external media e.g. /jffs

If minidlna is running and your dlna client cannot find minidlna then you have to check your network setup. Minidlna listens on br0 for requests.

minidlna has no web interface. your clients connect (eg. PS3) to it on port 8200

Thank you Firmtech for the clarification.

I thought it had it's own web interface like Twonky.

3G modem support? Any chance?

3G modem support? Any chance?

Hi eTaurus,

Hi eTaurus,

I just compiled with 3G support and it seems like it does not consume a lot of flash space so my next builds will include 3G. Before I upload another build I want to monitor the wireless issue a bit in order to decide if I want to downgrade the broadcom drivers or not.

I have been experiencing wifi

I have been experiencing wifi drop outs when there is alot of traffic using WDS with a N connection. In order to correct the problem, I normally login to the router and select "Apply Settings" without changing anything on the Wireless tab. That seems to correct things.

Iloveramen said: Hi Kong, I can't seem to connect to the internet and wireless when I set the MIMO Transmission to a fixed rate. This sucks I was hoping to keep using your mod.

If you use Atheros in laptop and you have set ACK-time to 0 then you can't connect. That will work if you only have Broadcom network adapter(s).  Set your ACK-time ex to 200mtr (100 mtr*2)

Is this only valid for DD-WRT? Because Tomato sets the ACK timing to 0 on two Broadcom wireless acces points in my setup (E1000 and RT-N12) but I can still use those routers with three different Atheros clients.

Hoorray!!! I'm going to try it as soon as possible for it seems that your build has all the functionality I need at the moment.

Best regards,

The build is working, but the loopback seems to be broken for me.

The script provided here-in fixed it.
http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=89353&postdays=0&postorder=...

Has anyone else had problems with the loopback?
(although come to think of it, I didn't do a 30-30-30 reset between updates when I switched to this build)

FYI, same link as what i had posted. Although I didn't read about it not being implemented anymore, oh wait, yeah, they took it out because of the ugly coding... it is in there or the support ticket somewhere.

Hi les86,

Hi les86,

sd-idle is not doing anything unless someone calls it manually or via script.
Check Services->USB->Disk Info. If the drive is recognized, if not you have deactivated the usb port. In that case read:
