I've been using Tomato for years on a WRT54GL. I've just ordered a brand new WNR3500L to replace it as the interface speeds are starting to show their age.
I'd also like the functionality to create a VPN at home, I'm under the impression that some of the builds include this?
Which build should I go for? Does this one include OpenVPN or similar?

Or is it this one...

(I don't really need transmission etc.)
Also would restoring my existing router settings (standard 1.28 release of Tomato) onto the new device work? I don't really want to reconfigure everything...
There's a bigger choice here:

You ought to reconfigure, because strange things can happen if you do not. However, this makes it very easy:

Thank you.
Router arrived, flashed with DD-WRT and then Tomato. Reconfigured everything and it seems to be running nicely. I've noticed some fancy new features already, nice work!
There's now a version for K24 MIPSR1 routers, such as the WRT54GL.
Look for v 7621.1
Have you succeeded to create VPN. Can you please provide me the steps to create
it?
Thanks in advance.
Best place to look for info on that is Linksysinfo.org, there's a forum thread devoted to it.
Thank you for the information.
