Is there DD-WRT Kong Mod USB/FTP/SAMBA3/MINIDLNA firmware for router BUFFALO WZR-HP-G300NH ?
Kong's builds are only for specific Broadcom chip-based routers. WZR-HP-G300NH is Atheros-based. However, dd-wrt has builds for WZR-HP-G300NH.
hello
i just posted this in another thead before i found this one
i just installed the following firmware into my WNR3500L router
Router Name
DD-WRT
Router Model
Netgear WNR3500v2/U/L
Firmware Version
DD-WRT v24-sp2 (04/12/11) vpnkong - build 16780M
but now it seems the usb port on the router is DEAD
when i put in a HD no LED's flash
a USB stick also no leds or anything
im sure its not the drive or stick sisce i tested them in a "normal" USB port of a computer
the drive is still formatted as NTFS btw
i did the 30-30-30 reset but no dice
i want to do the OPTware install thingy but then i really need the USB drive
surfing the boards for is VERY timeconsuming since the info around is fragmented to say the least
i went for this KONG mod because this said USB support was enabled by default AND it was succesfully tested on a WNR3500L
but it seems the USB port is simply dead
anyone have any tips?
or (preferably) a working configuration?
WNR3500L
firmware type and build??
thanks
and of course
just after i post this i find the solution!!!

thanks
I have belkin rounter and I've installed latest Kong MOD dd-wrt. I also have usb drive attached with 1gb of EXT3 partition and rest NTFS partition. Ext3 partition is mounted as /opt but when I tried to mount NTFS partiton as /mnt by following command
ntfs-3g -o rw /dev/discs/disc0/part2 /mnt
I got following error,
fuse device is missing, try 'modprobe fuse' as root
can anyone help me out?
I'm following this guide
http://www.luminaria.cc/en/dd-wrt-home-server-part-2-bittorrent-client-a...
thank you
I get 'file not found on server' when I try to use the Download link above.
It points at http://www.desipro.de/ddwrt/dd-wrt-usb-ftp-samba3-dlna-O2-v24-K26-broadc... by the way.
Anyone know what happened to this version?
Great... I see 4 versions - DLNA and VPN, with a 32nv and 64nv of each; which one is for the WNR3500L... 32 or 64 NVRAM?
And, can I change the MTU on the WNR3500L's gigabit LAN ports to 9000 bytes (i.e. Jumbo Frames) using those builds?
Thanks again. :-)
After a little more digging, it appears the WNR3500L has 8MB of Flash and 64MB of NVRAM, so any builds should work in it once the initial 'trailed' build is successfully installed.
Do you mean MTU size for the LAN ports are exposed in the GUI in Tomato? (have not flashed Tomato before, so don't know if it even has a GUI.)
What ought to matter for jumbo frame support is the switch driver... I should be able to run ifconfig [if] mtu 9000 in the Adminstration->Commands section to set it manually, then commit it if successful - I just don't know for sure yet what to use for "[if]" (eth0, eth1, eth2, vlan1, vlan2 or what).
@Darr247, (or anyone for that matter) - I've been searching ALL day re: changing the MTU of my Netgear WNR3500L router to 9000 from 1500. Currently, my Netgear switch (GS605), Network Attached Storage, and PC Network Card all support jumbo frames, and go-figure... the only missing piece is the router!!!
Have you discovered any new info re: being able to achieve this? From what I've learned, the WNR3500L doesn't support jumbo frames, and I don't know if flashing the router with a third-party firmware will "enable" this feature.
Please let me know what you come up with. I see you've been after this since 2008!
Thanks!
PS, from what I've learned of the Tomato builds...they have an option for changing the MTU on the WRN3500L, but it doesn't actually work...the MTU remains at 1500!
At this point, I don't if it's possible to achieve jumbo frames with the WRN3500L using a third-party firmware. My only solution would be to get a new router that supports it, but I'm not sure it's worth it to go down that road just yet. I look fwd to increased transfer speeds, but getting rid of a perfectly good router seems rather wasteful.
The MTU setting on the Tomato build does work, at least to settings below 1500. I would suggest loading the latest build and give it a try.
I added a $25 TrendNet 8-port gigabit switch I got on sale from NewEgg... plugged in all the devices formerly connected to the Netgear, then connected one of the Netgear's LAN ports to the TrendNet... now my CentOS server mounts my 4TB NAS box as NFS **and** my LAN has Internet access (through the Netgear) and the Samknows firmware is still testing my ISP's down/up connection speeds (and other data) at random times (when it's been more than 4 hours since the last test PLUS it senses no traffic for 5 minutes or so... are the criteria to trigger the testing, if I recall correctly). Prior to that the NAS box would mount OK, I just couldn't access it from the CentOS machine.
Unfortunately, I'm trying to use jumbo frames, so I'm looking to go up [to 9000] not down. Currently, the Netgear stock firmware enables MTU settings below 1500.
And that's only on the WAN port, not the switch's LAN ports... until the backbone is gigabit, we WANT the router to break up the jumbo-framed packets heading out to the Internet into 1500-byte chunks.
........
The Tomato firmware has a settings to enable jumbo frames and set frame size. Advanced > Miscellaneous. Your best bet is to load the firmware and test it, you can always reload the original.
Great - excited to check it out.
Thanks.
Hmm, unless I'm reading something wrong it doesn't appear that any Netgear routers are supported by Tomato:
Unless you were talking about TomatoUSB.org and not polarcloud.com.
WRN3500L is supported at tomatousb.org. Can you confirm which one you are using?
TomatoUSB you can get the file from the download tab on this site.

I am using the latest build dated 11/8/11.
