Configuration Advice

I bought my router about a year and a half ago and set it up quickly, after a few months, I moved for work but my family stayed behind. Now that they've moved down here with me, I'm trying to set up my router, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to get it to connect to my static IP through comcast.

I connected my computer directly to my modem and ran an ipconfig /all and tried to plug those values into the router, but couldn't get it to connect. I then told it to use my computer's MAC address, but that didn't help.

I'm still using the default software, but I was thinking of using a tomato build. Can anyone give me some tips on configuring a static IP compared to a dynamic?

I have a WNR3500L, and whenever I try to use auto-configure, it says that my connection type is a static IP.

I did get the router to work

I did get the router to work after I tried the 30-30-30 reset like in the documentation online. I'd never tried it before, but it worked like a charm. Now I'll need to decide what firmware I want to try.

Great to hear that things are

Great to hear that things are working at your side. You will find various Tomato and dd-wrt firmwares in this site for your router.
