As it seems, if TLS Cipher is

As it seems, if TLS Cipher is disabled, it works.
If`ts enabled, it just does not and produces TLS error.

Nevermind, figured it out

Nevermind, figured it out already, actually TLS cipher, started to work on this release, so if it was enabled, but not specified on client side, it supposed to fail... (facepalm)

cron does not work in

cron does not work in kingkong nv32k on an Asus RT-N16. It happened after upgrading to this build. It does not happen in stdkong nv60k for two E3000s.

slobodan
slobodan's picture
It was a problem with /var

It was a problem with /var/run/crond.pid . After deleting this file, cron started from command prompt, twice, once with a new PID and also with the old PID.

Problem is not solved yet.

Problem is not solved yet. cron is running but does nothing.

Later edit: it had to do with permissions of the cron files. chmod 600 the files and chmod 750 the folder and restarting cron solved the problem.

Still not working,

Still not working,

disable all wireless interference mitigation to see how this affects performance

Fixes:

fix wireless channel width
fix openvpn tls selection

Turning 2.4GHz @ 40MHz the results are as followed, also verified with inSSIDer that 40MHz interference mitigation is still working.

Radio: Radio is On
Mode: AP
Network: NG-Mixed
SSID: Low Brass - WDS
Channel: -1 + 1
TX Power: 1496 mW
Rate: 144 Mbps
Encryption - Interface wl0 Enabled, WPA2 Personal
PPTP Status: Disconnected

@gambitmac,

@gambitmac,

the latest build actually uses now some special interference mitigation. I did a bit of testing a found it to be the best.

The driver in the k26 Build however does not stay at 40Mhz width unless you have no other wireless around, there is some logic in the driver that adjust channels/width automatically. You cannot override this through the utilities.

Not to mention, i wouldn't

Not to mention, i wouldn't expect HT40 to work with NG-Mixed mode. And 1496mW for txpower? Where you guys come up with these fantasy settings at?

LOL, that was a typo it was suppose to say 49mW not 1496mW sorry about that.

Using KONG MOD DD-WRT 21661

Using KONG MOD DD-WRT 21661 on E3000 as client bridge

Currently. working without a problem. no disconnects. I tried to use it as AP but too many wireless channels nearby and HT40 won't stay on. Bought an ASUS N66U and currently am using that as my main router.

E3000 connects and bridges the 5GHZ. haven't had to reset it or restart it. I always do a speedtest from speedtest.net and I get around 45mbps. I pay for 28mbps. so for me this is good. :) if i have trouble with ASUS's beta firmware i will switch to kongs mod. but currently i haven't had an issue with Beta firmware Version 3.0.0.4.354

Look at the commandline options, e.g. you can copy the opkg.conf from /etc/opkg.conf to /jffs modify it and then call opkg with --conf  and use your custimized config:-)

mh okay, that´s an option to point opkg to an alternative config file. of course, i have searched for an option to give an alternate install dir, but i have only found -t for cache dir.

so, now give a k3.0 kingkong build :DD

I'm getting high load average

I'm getting high load average after my IP renews it lease, anyone else having this problem? It not that bad this morning, but the other day while running torrents load average spiked to over 23.00 after IP renew. The only thing that fixes it is a reboot, then load averages are 0.00, 0.08, 0.05.

top - 05:29:49 up 21:33, 0 users, load average: 4.01, 5.93, 5.39

Because you are running a

Because you are running a torrent client on your router - we could never really know what the exact cause could be, you really should get rid of the additional 'features' of using optware, then conduct tests. When you start using your router for other things besides routing packets, which is what a router should do anyhow, you can expect some odd results. And if you are still using optware, which i feel you are and is currently having problems with the FPU emulation issue, then yes - i would expect some high loads.

When this happens, i would run top and see what is eating up cycles, then you'll better know what the problem is.

21661 freezing router (ASUS rt-16)

Vlan 1 (Port 1-3) installed working 13.13.13.1(DHCP installed starting at 13.13.13.10)

My internal network with wireless Working

Buffalo LinkStation Pro Duo 3TB Raid 1, set as backup and Torrent downloader working (13.13.13.5)

Vlan 3 (Port 4) 192.168.0.1 (DHCP starting at 192.168.0.10-192.168.0.30) wired goes to Dlink 615 located upstairs that is broadcasting 5 wireless SSIDS to my neighbourhood (Dlink set as ROUTER not gateway) Working

Dlink router’s IP is 192.168.0.3, connection type disabled, so it’s just broadcasting wireless, the ASUS RT-16 is acting as the DHCP server, I use this to see who is online and is any one is abusing my free internet. (I have a 1 MB ADSL connection)

QOS installed Working

I have 192.168.0.1-192.168.0.30 set as bulk and 13.13.13.1 network set as I need

Firewall installed but nothing ticked, using this to separate Vlans

Scheduled reboot at midnight

Problem occurs when I log onto my Desktop computer and start to surf internet/online gaming (COMBAT ARMS EU) or YouTube. I have to turn the ASUS RT-16 off and on almost every time (did not have this problem with other build’s) same configuration.

I am still a newbie to this

Isn't fixtables part of optware? As i advised, you really should turn off optware all together before you run tests, then see what results are yielded. When i ran optware, it ate alot of resources period, and not to mention asiablock? Why not block out the world instead? Just never made much sense to me. The scripts/packages within in it imho are WAY out of date. And from my view it worked good for frater, not everyone has the same setup as frater so i don't want to block all of asia or europe or any other country for that matter.

Good to know, not sure where you are getting a reference from my post about having AT&T, i don't recall mentioning anything about AT&T whatsoever and i personally do not like AT&T services.

I have a wrt610v2 setup as a WAN PPTP. I have the Connection Strategy setup as Keep Alive and it works fine.

But I would prefer to use the Connection Strategy, Connect on Demand; but it just doesn't work with this build. Any device trying to get an Internet Connection can not connect. Checking the WAN PPTP status shows no connection. I've tried to manual connect but it can not connect.

Is there any "work around" to the WAN PPTP Connect on Demand? If not what it the best working build for WAN PPTP?

TIA!!

I tried 2 other builds...

On the 610v2 I tried kong-vpn 18010. Same problem plus when the WAN PPTP is not connected I would get a connection to my IPS, NOT GOOD since I have this router setup for WAN PPTP and if the PPTP is not connected there should NO INTERNET CONNECTION.

While I was downgrading the 610v2 I loaded k2.4 build and bricked the router. I will have to de-brick at a later date.

I'm now using a wrt320 and loaded 15962 and Connection on Demand doesn't work plus I ran into vlan issues.

I've now loaded wrt320 to 21661 and back to my original problem with a bricked 610v2....
