Hi, I am new here and this is my first thread so, at this time not going to get real granualar with the details yet..but would be willing to.
Current issue: Android running Cyanogen Mod Ver 11xx/ Android ver 4.4.2 (KK) and my laptop are not able to connect to my home WiFI on neither band or on auto or manual channel config and I know it is not a signal problem going on in my sole occupency one bedroom apartment and no neighbors issues either and I do work in IT so I don't consider myself a network noob by any stretch...but I have but used DD-WRT as of late and a noob of Kong's builds and I am finding it difficult to pick up his "work" and get a feel for on his methodologies and too busy to scour the globe to figure this out right now (too busy).
I would be appreciative if I could get some help on this..extremely appreciative if I could hear from Kong him self about this and whats going on here with my situation becuase I would really hate to have to go back the the stock Netgear FW on my R6300v1. Thanks in advance, Jason.
To rule out a common problems:
If you are using 802.11n (N-Only), then you must setup encryption to WPA2/AES.
You said signal is okay, so you can see the AP from the android?
Can you log on via ssh and run these commands:
wl -i eth1 status
wl -i eth2 status
ps
Thank you Kong for your reply and here is the answers to your questions:
1) N-only to pair up my Android, using WPA2 w/AES. Signal is not the problem it, is is a "authenification" problem for both the 2.4 and 5Ghz band. everything else is including my laptop is currently hardwired.
2) As of now, I am not able to log into 192.168.1.1.
It this time I am looking at a working solution to this.
What do you mean you can't login to 192.168.1.1. Do you get to the webif?
Did you setup user password at first logon?
Kong,I possibly could not access the webif because I changed the username from root to something else but password is always set..I thought that was always mandatory. I did a factory reset and was able to access the webif.
Kong, I think I solved the issue why my Android would not connect, it was because my Passwords were most likely too long (18 characters and a space). Question, would you know the password requirements and limits are for the webif and the WIFI passwords, by chance? Thanks!
