Router restarts when downloading big files

I have the R6300v1 router with Firmware: DD-WRT v24-sp2 (10/27/14) giga.

My problem is that when I want to download a big file (video, ISO, etc.) the router restarts.  This doesn't happen with the stock netgear software on it.  Only with DD-WRT.

Is anybody having the same issues?   If so, how to fix?

Thanks,

Francisco

Could you please be more

Could you please be more precise about the size and type of file you are trying to download?

And please provide the link of the firmware you have flashed. I will use the same to test whether I am getting the same issue in my set-up.

For examplean .exe from

For examplean .exe from OpenOffice.org (http://downloads.sourceforge.net/project/openofficeorg.mirror/4.1.1/bina...)

Video files from youtube.com (files bigger than 200MB).

I did some more testing. It even restarted when I did a speed test using http://speedtest.net.

I think I fixed it though.

I did the 30-30-30, reinstalled the Netgear stock, 30-30-30 and then reinstalled the DD-WRT version then the 30-30-30 and now it is working. Very weird.

I did the same exact thing at the begining but it didn't work.

Now it is working so far. I will test for a whole week and I will update this post.

Thanks a lot for the update.

Thanks a lot for the update.

Please note that it is always recommended to perform a Hard Reset after flashing DD-WRT from Stock or Vice-versa.

As you said that you will test it for a week, so I will be waiting for your update.

Update:

Sorry it took my more than a week.

It keeps doing the same but I discover that it is doing it only when I trun QOS on. When off, everything's fine.

Now my problem is that I need QOS since I have a lot of people streaming at the house.

But confirmed: Only when QOS is on.
