R8000 2.4 Ghz Radio not connecting over 300 Mbps with DD-WRT firmware. Previously working at 600 Mbps with Netgear firmware

Hello,

Has anyone else seen this?

NetGear R8000 with DD-WRT Kong Mod firmware V24-SP2 Build 26365.

2.4 Ghz clients that were previously connecting at 600 Mbps are now only connecting at 300 Mbps, regardless of any radio settings.  Radio settings are broken out below...

I have tried every combination of setting and still no 600 Mbps.  Same client H/W connects via 600 Mbps on NetGear firmware...

Which client hw connected at 600Mbps, I'm not aware of any client hw except Routers like the R7000 that support TurboQAM with connection rates up to 600Mbps.

I have just tried Tathagata

I have just tried Tathagata DD-WRT 27XX build. All I can say to anyone is, in my recent experience, be VERY careful. Radios are quite Wonky. I have gone back to the March 7 - KONG build for my R8000. It is the main gateway and It runs very well(all 3 radios). One of my ap's is an R7000 running mainline DD-WRT, it's two radios are running the same ssid's as the 2.4ghz radio and one of the 5ghz radios on the R8000, and they work together very well.

I think for an R8000 at this point, it would be best to stay with Kong's version.

I have had no issues with the Tathagata 27xx build for the R8000. The key is to make sure you do a full NVRAM wipe before and after upgrading to ensure your NVRAM settings are at their correct defaults.

I have used KONG builds in the past and they have been quite good overall as well, so for each there own :)

I've done a complete re-install and the NVRAM wipe - I cannot get the 2.4G radio to work in any modes at all.  Both the 5G radios are working - however, AC-Only mode will not allow for a client to connect.  Looks like radio driver issues to me.  THe seeting look correct in the NVRAM.

I have been using DD-WRT

I have been using DD-WRT Tathagata build revision 27261 for the last few weeks and haven't encountered any sort of Radio issues.

The Firmware is quite stable as far as RADIOs are concerned.

Those who are facing problems or have any issues, please put the specific information where you have issues and give the proper configuration you are using, then I may help you.

Just recently installed the Kong plattform from August 2015 on my R8000 and noticed that only 1 5 GHz network is working and none of the usb ports. Any idea how to address this?
