How log on to router

Being total newbie to DD-WRT I have already been stumped.   I downloaded the firmware and  installed it.  Now I cannot figure out how to acces the router.  Before I used the http address of "routerlogin.net".   That does not work.  Then I tried 192.168.1.1 and that did not work.  Either I bricked my router or I have not completed some important step in installing the new firmware.   Is there a new way to access router after instaling DD-WRT?  Thanks.

Using ipcofig it showed the

Using ipcofig it showed the same address I used before but now it works. THanks!

 

  Now I need to go through the menus and see what settings I need to change if any.  Im hoping the default settings are most appropriate.
