Looks like Brainslayer has also added support for the R6400 in the latest beta.

Is one inherently better than the other?

I should clarify this is a beta build, not a stable build.
I am running BS ftp://ftp.dd-wrt.com/betas/2016/06-20-2016-r29974/netgear-r6400/ for a day now and I am surprised how well it runs.
I boosted the cpu from 800 to 1000 Mhz without a problem. Temperature still 70 degrees.
Both 2.4 and 5 Ghz perform well.
Does BS's build give you better control over the traffic monitoring? Netgear's default traffic meter sucks. It gives you total DL/UP but I'm looking for something more granual. Preferably knowing the DL/UP of each device.
would like to know how to get more granular realtime traffic monitoring on my R6400 as well. would BS have more function over Kong for this?
Latest Beta Build r29968 with r6400 support any idea if this is worth flashing?

Also have been trying to figure out why the r6400 is not supported like the other r versions? Any insight into this?
Uhm, yes and no.
Firstly. that's not the latest build, but probably more stable in *some* ways than the latest build.
Latest is ftp://ftp.dd-wrt.com/betas/2016/12-15-2016-r30949/
I cant comment on why they have not added it to the supported devices list. I've not ever realy found a build that does not have some issues.
Sort of why I'm here.
As a side note, I really really don't think anyone should be using the r30949 build. If you read through the forum page for it, most people are having a lot of problems.

I personally am still running DD-WRT v3.0-r30471 std (08/24/16).
