Hello,
I live in France and I'll soon buy a router to put DD WRT on it. However I have 3 questions :
-> I want to buy the R7000-100PES (the only model available in France), is the -100PES okay with Kong and 5ghz ? (LINK HERE TO AMAZON PAGE)
-> Is there a simple guide (updated one) to install the router, because the only tutorials I can find are from 2014 and the router might have changed since.
-> Is there a risk to brick it definitively or i there always a way to unbrick it (link TFTP) when installing king.
Thanks for taking the time to answer me :)
Azertro-
I think I just sent you a message. I will repost here in case someone else has input.
I was attempting to load the dd-wrt firmware on my R7000 router lastnight.
I looked at the tutorial located at http://www.tweaking4all.com/hardware/netgear-r7000-dd-wrt/
It indicates that you first load an initial firmware .chk file, then you load a Kong mod.
Since that was from 2014, it may be an old method. Maybe now you just do the Kong file, such as dd-wrt.K3_R7000.chk which came out quite recently.
Let me know if you know otherwise.

Roger

I hate using these forums...
Try this link...
I have the same question, i flashed my Netgear R7000 with the file dd-wrt.K3_R7000.chk about a week ago and everything has been fine but my question is do Istill need to flash dd-wrt.v24-K3_AC_ARM_STD.bin they both have the same modified date 2017-01-18.
That is the link which I provided above, which is from 2014 and has steps which we are trying to determine if deprecated.
Where did you find dd-wrt.v24-K3_AC_ARM_STD.bin ?
Does it have that modified date because you downloaded it on 2017-01-18? I am betting so.
When I look at this site: http://www.desipro.de/ddwrt/K3-AC-Arm/ all the .bin files seem to have router models in the file name. I don't see any such files for an R7000 router, just the .chk file.
Thanks for all you answer, my main question was about R7000-100PES, is it compatible ?
Thanks !

Just receievd a mail from kong himself :
"Hello, in France the model R7000-100PES is sold. Is it compatible with your dd-wrt ?"
He answered "Yes it is compatible. Cheers, Kong"
So the R7000-100PES is compatible with Kong DD-WRT :)
