USB Issues running KONG DD-WRT : 3.0-r31160M

I am very new at this and am stuck trying to get my USB drive to be accessible through my network.  I have USB Core, storage, and auto mount enabled and my 500GB drive formatted as EXT4 with just one partition.  I enabled SAMBA and added my workgroup...added my share and gave it a name...no user/pass at this time...applied and saved all settings and I cant see in my netowrk!  I have reflashed the firmware, set back to default settings,...re formatted the drive as EXT2, EXT3 and now EXT4....

What am I missing here?

Thanks

I should also add that I have

I should also add that I have Kernell 4.4.43. I formatted back to ext 3 and rebooted again.  Still no network access. This has to be something easy I am missing. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

Have you turned on USB

Have you turned on USB functionality? I don't believe this is on by default. Don't use it myself....

I did turn it on. I could never get it to work running dd-wrt. I loaded tomato and it worked first time.
