Setting to use USB as WAN port for 4G teathering

Hi, I am trying to set up my R7000 to use the USB port as the WAN port, using preferably my Netgear AirCard mobile boradband modem in thether mode, or to use my iPhone tethering.

I have tried the settings to use iPhone techering, but does no seem to work. iPhone says it is tethering but DD WRT is reporting no WAN connection.

Any clues on what I need to do to get tethering via USB working would be appreciated.
