Hello,
I just bought a AC1900 router and would like to use Kong's firmware. I've read the quide on how to flash DD-WRT firmwares and it's a two step process.
I went to this link to find the router related files - http://www.dd-wrt.com/site/support/router-database but it is not listing the temporary .chk and the actual DD-WRT .bin file for the AC1900.
Can someone please point me to the right direction/link to get the right files for the AC1900? I was only able to find the .bin file (http://www.myopenrouter.com/download/52625/DD-WRT-K3-for-NETGEAR-R7000-Nighthawk-WiFi-Router-Kong-build) but not the .chk file.
Thanks in advance.
Hmmm, if I click on download on this page:
http://www.myopenrouter.com/download/52625/DD-WRT-K3-for-NETGEAR-R7000-N...
It downloads a chk.
After you flashed that check you might want to flash:
http://www.desipro.de/ddwrt/K3-AC-Arm/r23884/dd-wrt.v24-K3_AC_ARM_STD_OL...
Which is the latest build and includes the fix for the heartbleed bug.
Thank you Kong. My mistake, my apologies.
I still have lots to learn by reading through the forum posts - this is a great start.
Just an update - Did some more reading to ensure I flashed the router correct. I'm happy to say that I am now running your DDWRT firmware. I enabled OpenVPN using PIA service. I'm still testing it to see if there are any persistent connectivity issues (one overnight where my devices lost connectivity - both wifi and wired).
A reboot fixed it. If it occurs again, I'm going to do a 30-30-30 reset.
