R7800 Router behind FritzBox VPN access

Hello,

could anybody please help me? My old network was only a Fritzbox. I setp up the VPN access and it worked fine. Now I have the R7700 router behind the Fritzbox 192.168.10.1 with a separate network 192.168.1.1. The Fritz Boxx is accesable from the second network. Now I would like to access the network of the R7800 router 192.168.1.1 from outside via the existing VPN access of the Fritz Box. What is required ro forward the VPN access from the FritzBox to the second network?

Thanks

YOur in a double NAT

YOur in a double NAT condition if you have both routers on the same network.

Use the Fritzbox's DMZ for the IP address the R7800 gets from the Fritzbox router.

Set up a reserved IP address

Set up a reserved IP address for the R7800 on the Fritzbox. This will be the IP address that is give from the modem to the R7800. Input this IP address in to the DMZ feature on the Fritzbox.

Review the Mfr support information on gaining access the the Fritzbox web page UI and DMZ feature. You may need additional help and information from the Mfr as well.

Thank you. In the Fritzbox

Thank you. In the Fritzbox this is the exposed host feature. Is this really all I need to do?  Would this be a security issue to change the R7800 as a exposed host?

Or is it only accesable via my VPN access.

Could the following scenario

Could the following scenario work?

I will plug the Fritzbox not into the WAN Port of the R7800. Instead I will use a switch port. After turning off the DHCP on the Netgear all clients should get an IP of the Fritzbox Network. My question is will the VPN client work?

No, your fritzbox is a router

No, your fritzbox is a router as well. Having two routers on the same line and trying to get VPN working on the R7800 will not work. you have to get into a single NAT condition, either bridge the Fritzbox so that it's router is disabled or use it's DMZ for the ip ADDRESS the R7800. DMZ will help with this configuration if you keep the fritzbox as a router. The R7800 has a firewall as well. So putting the R7800 in the DMZ is just like connecting the R7800 to a stand alone router, it's exposed here as well, this is why all routers have a firewall. This is normal.
