Upgrading dd-wrt firmware on R7000

Hi !

I'm running "DD-WRT v24-sp2 (10/07/14) kongac - build 25090M" firmware and I want to upgrade to the newer stable version.

Reading FAQs and tutorial I understand that I can do it by web inteface using bin file and reseting to factory defaults after.

Problem is there's no bin file for R7000 on http://www.desipro.de/ddwrt/K3-AC-Arm/ , I only see a chk for initial flashing coming from NetGear's firmware. Should I use chk file like bin file in web interface ?

I am looking for a configuration step by step for maximum security ... to optimize ddwrt ... Wifi, firewall, vpn ... I saw this tutorial with 16 steps
