Use xwrt vortex firmware on R6400v1. I use it for a few months now and it is stable and packed with features. Read guide in this thread:
https://www.myopenrouter.com/forum/merlin-asus-wrt-r6400v1
Use 7.5 version!!!
I use Kong's DDWRT on 6400v2. Works for me. No reboots, steady signal.
Seems links were repositioned, new links are in

I presume, these r6400 7.5 are exactly the ones from above?
Yes it is the same firmware on the new link. I am using 7.9 for a month now and haven't got any issues. Updated from 7.5 without any trouble.
7.9 is as stable as 7.5 and even a little faster.
Cheers
Goodf to hear, I'm wondering if I should move from dd-wrt. If you could compare, do I loose many features comparing to dd-wrt?
I came from dd-wrt and will never go back
Don't forget the to turn on the ASUS features!
Navigate to Tools > Other Settings > ASUS Features > Enable BWDPI
Reboot for them to become active.
Ok, thx for raply. I'll tinker it on weekend when I'll have time to fight with it
Btw. this FW has good lan speed, anybody knows that (CTF enabled )?
