I have a R7000 that I can't seem to fix. It used to run a variant of Marlins AsusWRT, but it suddenly stopped working. Nobody can login to the wifi nor ethernet. I have tried so many things, setting static IPs, Wiresharking to see whats actually happening (router never seems to really talk on the network, apart from it saying that vmlinuz timed out?).
So nobody can connect to the router at all, not via ethernet and not via wifi. But once in about 20 resets (rough but truthful estimate) I suddenly can connect and everything seems to work fine. But I didn't trust it, so I flashed AwesomeTomato, which flashed without a problem. It rebooted and I was at square one again... I have been able to login to the router only one time after flashing Tomato, and that's it, because I moved the router to a place where it has access to the internet, to test further.
I have a FTDI chip, and the serial monitor works fine, I can see the router bootup, I can enter CFE and Linux shell, and I have wiped nvram (erase_nvram iirc in CFE), but that didn't seem to help.
The final part of the bootlog bothers me a bit, it throws errors.

I cannot seem to find out how to flash firmware directly via serial, as I cannot connect to the router itself.
Anything I could try?
I forgot to add that Android clients can't connect either. When hit connect, it tries but instantly fails without error, I can try anytime I want, I have the same problem everytime.
you need a valid cfe file to put on your router otherwise it's a paerweight.
if you can enter the CFE and get a CFE prompt. try tftp to load it from one of the wired ethernet ports. Manual configure the computer IP to 192.168.1.2 the router IP should be 192.168.1.1
