Wired connections get booted..

Really bizzare, but when I hardwire/ethernet my devices (xbox one and phillips hue hub) both get booted off the router every one to two weeks. When the xbox is connected wirelessly I never have an issues. I have had this issue on prior versions of voxels firmware, but just though it was the xbox.

Using the online GUI "routerlogin.net", both the devices appear in my "conected devices", however when the get "booted" they no longer appear even though they are both connected.

Under my LAN setup I am using my router as a DHCP Server, but have not reserved a specific IP address for either of the devices ( I belived I tried this in the past and it didnt work.

Anyway any help is appreciated, part of me wonders if its a hardware issue.

What FW is currently loaded?
What FW is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the ISP modem the NG router is connected too?

Using Auto or manual Channels on wifi?

Try setting manual channel 1, 6 or 11 on 2.4Ghz and any unused channel on 5Ghz.

Any Wifi Neighbors near by? If so, how many?

What is the distance between the router and devices?

So it looks like this is a known issues :/ https://community.netgear.com/t5/Nighthawk-WiFi-Routers/Nighthawk-R7800-... . I just ordered an eithernet switch as it sounds like that is really the only solution...

Thanks for the the info, just set up both devices. I'll set a reminder to post back in ~2 weeks in the case I forget becuase it all works.

I am a little bit biffed that my /root/.ssh/authorized_keys/ files folder and ccontents didn't stick with the update from voxel V1.0.2.60SF to V1.0.2.62SF. I'm a bit more biffed that I saved a backup file before updating and that doesnt have the contents either. Am I crazy or do those files not get backed up?

How did you "backup"?

How did you "backup"?
Backup of settings from GUI is only of nvram parameters.

Ahhhhhh, it was just from the GUI. I have a my keys saved, but I'm running into issues. I just need to take some time and go back over voxels readme to gett the ssh back up and running.

Is there another option to back up all your prior setttings like vpn,  ssh, etc. ?

Yes, insert a USB memory and

Yes, insert a USB memory and make a backup to it with help of the tar command.

Search for voxel and tar, and you will find his example.

I have an add-on for this but I'm not at home and can not release anything in near time.

Welp, unfortunately the proposed fix didn't do the trick, unless I did something incorrect. I think maybe your fix works for a more specific issue with xboxs? Where as my issue seems to effect every LAN connect device. I should get the eithernet switch in this evening so well see if that does the trick.

Well, the ethernet switch

Well, the ethernet switch worked. No idea how or why it works but it does.
