Thank you for clearing that up, Kong. Am I safe to assume mine is a v1?
No. It could also be WNR3500U or WNR3500v2, according to the "Netgear WNR3500L/U/v2" info provided. :p But definitely not WNR3500Lv2.
And Netgear marketing should fired for having WNR3500v2 / WNR3500Lv2 ****up.
It looks as though they have upgraded the flash and ram for the v2 according to netgear.com
This could be a good thing if there is going to be support for the WNR3500Lv2
Is anyone working on supporting this router with Tomato firmware?
Quote:
Memory: 128 MB NAND flash and 128 MB RAM

sad hamster is sad :(
http://www.myopenrouter.com/article/23842/DD-WRT-Kong-Mod-Info/ seems those who ended up with a V2 wont be getting some dd-wrt 128MB Flash and RAM, 32KB NVRAM 480MHz CPU 2 wifi antennas instead of 3 (though the 3rd one for the V1 was a receive only antenna)
Has anyone successfuly installed Tomato on 3500L V2 yet? If so, which firmware versions worked fine?
It appears that the 3500L I will get for my order will be V2, I need to know should I cancel the order if there is still a problem with installing Tomato on 3500L V2.
nope, no one has made a version that is compatible or even accepted by the router.
But from the looks of the specs, it should support the features of the V1 since the NVRAM is the same size.
it has more storage and ram, probably at the cost of a crappier wifi radio
Guys from DD-WRT forum doubt anyone actually has a v2 version of WNR3500L yet, anyone who thinks he/she has please make sure. If you have V2 then "Model: WNR3500L v2" should be printed on the back of the device.

Have you any news about supporting this model?? This is very goog router (except qos configuration) but i really look for printer support in this model.
Seems no progress started in supporting WNR3500Lv2 in DD-WRT etc.
I surely do have a WNR3500Lv2 brand new here on my desk, what can I do to help the community getting started with DD-WRT on this model?
I have hardware available and have a serial cable to test firmware releases. Kong, do you think you could cook us up a vpn build?
Hi All,
You you have any idea why WNR3500L-v2 firmware doesn't have wireless WEB security?
Even though I upgraded to version WNR3500Lv2-V1.0.0.14_37.0.50, it still doesn't have either. Anyway can the WNR3500L-v2 be upgraded to have wireless WEB security?
Thanks,
-Chu Le
Oh, sorry. WEP security.
You know, but WNR3500L-v1 has WEP security option in 300Mbps set.
I don't know why they changed in WNR3500L-v2.
Thanks,
-Chu Le
