Has anyone seen/done any work on calculating the network speed for ADSL/CableModem connections? What I like to achieve is when the WAN is up, the router box should be able to send few packets (ftp, ping etc) to a server and get an idea of the current link speed for the ISP connection. Any pointers, links, feedback is greatly appreciated!
