Brick... There is only the orange light...

Hey to all, i need your help!

i flashed my wnr3500l today with openwrt (Kamikaze 8.09.2) and it worked.

then i changed the macadress for my internet connection.

since this moment it has stoppt to work... if i switch it on, the only light whitch is lightend is the power light (constantly and in the color orange).

If i connect a lan-cable, the portnumber is green...

the wlan is also offline...

i don't know what i shell do now..

i tried the 30/30/30 reset... but nothing...

best regards

Since you want to play with

Since you want to play with openwrt you should get a JTAG cable, this way you can see why the router does not fully come up and in case it is not crashing you can use the serial console via JTAG to reconfigure the router without reflashing.

A JTAG tutorial:

If you are looking for a quick solution you can search the forum for "Short Pin Method" to debrick the router

In Addition to that some info which worked for me:

For the right timing open a CMD prompt and ping:

ping -t -w 2000 192.168.1.1

Press Reset Button, Power on. Wait about 30s, release Reset Button, once you receive the first ping in your command prompt short the pins from the above guide, now ping should continue, whichs means tftpd was started by the short pin.

After that flash the original chk file via tftp

thanks for your help! was a little thrill to short cut the pins, but its done :D

ping -t -w 2000 192.168.1.1 -- that was the point! the normal ping without -w 2000 was not working
