the v2 have more ram and flash. 128 ram and 128 flash
I'm dissapointed by the WNR3500L v2 because there is no official DD-WRT support and they don't seem to be interessed into building a version for the V2. All shops are selling it as "WNR3500L" and then you don't know what you get. I'm thinking about sending the router back and buying a V1 or another router on ebay that is really DD-WRT-compatible.
@ manitou - Its not that no one seems interested in porting dd-wrt for the WNR3500L v2, its that no one seems interested in either donating a unit to eko for the port, or no one seems interested in getting a serial dump so that we can see at this point if it can even be supported.
You guys want something to be supported but don't want to go through the steps to see that it happens, because we can't guess out of thin air how to support it, we need a unit or serial logs, none of which anyone seems to want to provide.
How about a poll option "I ordered the WNR3500Lv2 & I received the WNR3500L"
Thats whats happened to me. Online Customer Support feedback says it should get back to me in two days - it does list support for WNR3500Lv2
The telephone customer support is a maze of what categories you fit into - including that netgearOnlineSales is a completely different company and can't provide customer support.
I called the customer service representative from store.netgear.com. - had to wait 17minutes and then after a further 10minutes they said they can refund me $108.49 but can't refund the tax charged of $9.18.
This is for a product purchased from what appears to be a California company to a California address, but shipped from Oregon by what is apparently a third party store.netgear.com.
Seems like online they have taken the WNR3500Lv2 off the available category. However I have the downloaded brochure.
BTW the WNR3500L is widely available from a number of places that are discounting it - I could have got the standard product for $59 from Newegg.com including shipping
store.netgear.com however charged $117 including shipping.
Moral of the story beware store.netgear.com
I would be so happy if I would have gotten a V1..
I ordered two WNR3500L (without knowing that there is allready the V2 out) for two friends. Now I have two V2 at home that are complettely useless and my friends still don't have their routers.. But without a PPTP-Server, they can't use the router..
