Confused on what to use in firmware

My apologies, but I'm a bit confused on versions I should consider in upgrading. I took the plunge last month and installed

on my Netgear WNR3500L v1

Part of the drive was the need come up wiiith a print server to support my Linux box and a Windoze box. I suspect possible intrusion on the WiFi

as well, so I was hoping to bring in VPN capability, as well.

Some of the features in this new firmware have impressed me, such as Nate True's Wireless Network visualization app.

All that said, due to Heartbleed I suspect I need to upgrade this firmware, but I'm unsure where to go next.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
