DD-WRT Access Restriction and the Guest Network

Access Restriction (Deny internet) does work on the main network but does not work for the Guest network.  Can someone show me the light?   I am not new to DD-WRT.  I have used it for years.  I even have a Client Bridge set up with DD-WRT on a second router.  USB NAS and all that.   But Access Restrictions are just killing me (no I am not using OpenVPN).

DD-WRT 32170M on R7000.   My main network is 10.0.0.x   My Guest network is 10.0.1.x

I have had success restricting internat access to the main network but the same simple methods applied to the guest network have no effect.   The "Edit List Of Clients" button leads to a page that offers an easy setup option of 10.0.0.blank where one just fills in the blank and I believe this might be a clue.    Does this imply that restrictions are only offered on the 10.0.0.x network (and not on 10.0.1.x)???   I assume we all agree that Access Restrictions would be a terrific tool on a guest network.   All I need is Deny but I really really really want to implement it as the Access Restrictions webpage offers it (in other words would rather not use scripts).

Thanks in advance to anyone who can show me the "trick".
