Firmware Updates

I am considering buying the WGR614L based on its ability to install third party firmware, but it doesn't look like this router is as well supported as the Linksys WRT54GL (sorry). I'm thinking specifically about Tomato, which is currently at version 1.23 according to the Polar Cloud website, while the latest version I've found posted here is 1.11. This version appears to be so old that it is not even mentioned in the Tomato firmware change logs. Further, I've read here in the forums that the 1.11 version does not yet support WPA or WPA2.

From what I can tell. the Polar Cloud binaries can be applied directly to the Linksys router without modification, but the Tomato 1.23 source must be specifically adapted to work on the Netgear. I'm not a programmer and don't have the skills to build Netgear compatible versions myself so I would have to rely on volunteers here to keep up with the latest firmware updates. Are there any plans to speed up the pace of firmware ports so that WGR614L users can enjoy the same features as Linksys owners?

Thanks in advance.

I m sure that Netgear people would be working towards this .... BTW there are other third party f/wrs that are available on this site like :

DD-WRT and OpenWRT ... u can try out them ....
