At the risk of opening this topic, I need some help with the Genie app that came with my wonderful wnr3500Lv2 router. At the moment, I have loaded this app on all of my router clients that I can. Now, after 2 weeks of use, I find the Genie app crashing in WinXPpro SP3 with a small gray window with the red phillips scre head. I have learned that this means some sort of WinXP error. OK fine. The text in the error box reads:
"Runtime Error
Program: C:\Program Files\Netgear Genie\bin\Netgear Genie.exe
This application has requested thr Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
Please contact the application's support team for more information."
OK. So I need to speak to Netgear?
Does anyone here have any information about this error?
Thank you for any help you can share.
Personally, I uninstalled the Genie app and don't use it as I had problems with it too. You don't really need to have it run to have the router function.
m4p,
appreciate your share. Sadly, I keep seeing this, and, as Genie continues to crash, I will probably remove it from my clients once I finish rooting around on the Netgear forums.
