how to bypass file is incorrect message

i have the netgear r6300v1 and tried to update the firmware to ddwrt K3_R6300V2_15-Dec-2014.chk but i keep getting this screen http://prntscr.com/73008z i was wondering how i can bypass that, do i have to give the file a diff name or what. the stock firmware is a JOKE and id like to upgrade to dd-wrt ( which i have used on netgear WNDR3400 and netgear  WNDR4500 both with out a problem).

You can't install V2 firmware

You can't install V2 firmware on a V1 device. Renaming doesn't change that fact.

Get the correct version for your V1 device. I am pretty sure I've seen it in downloads on the DD-WRT website.
