NAT loopback

I'm new to this site and far from being an expert so please be patient with me.

I am currently running a standalone opensimulator sim on my internal network.  I recently had to purchase a new router so, I opted for the R7800 without doing a whole lot of research (unfortunately).  I discovered that this router does not support NAT Loopback ..  I even called netgear support and they confirmed that this router does not support this feature.  NAT Loopback in necessary for me to connect to my standalone from inside my network using the external DNS ..  I was wondering if installing this third party firmware would fix this issue with my router ?  or is it a hardware limitation ?

Thanks for your patience

Not sure, you can ask Voxel

Not sure, you can ask Voxel however not sure if he add any other features with his FW. You should ask his over on the DD-WRT and OpenWRT forums.

Hi,

Hi,

I am not sure, why Netgear say so. I did not test especially, but users of my FW confirmed its working. Look at:

(initial question)

(confirmation that it is working).

Voxel.

Maybe NG says a blanket

Maybe NG says a blanket statement rather then giving actual correct information.
