Just want to make sure this is done right without bricking my router...
This is the right DD-WRT firmware download file right? https://www.myopenrouter.com/download/dd-wrt-netgear-r7000p-rev-30776-20...
Is there a CHK file that I should be using after this? If so which one...
Just bought this router a couple of weeks ago...
Thanks and much appriciated
I personally prefer Kong's builds (they are usually stable and well tested). You can flash this chk file right from the Netgear firmware upgrade page.

Hi everyone: I need a little explanation of terms to understand which version of DD-wrt does what and why the differences? For example , what is the difference between STD.BIN and STD.BIN.MD5, STD.BIN. SIG, STD.128K.BIN, or STD.128K.BIN.MD5.
This may be too basic a question but for a newby this is a herd nut to crack. Please help
Hi,
consider that md5 files are there to check that your main files are not corrupted.
It 's a checksum.
Take a look at wikipedia md5 page to understand how it works.
