private ssid computers connect to printers on guest network?

I just completed setup of my new WNR3500L using native firmware. I have not enabled a guest network. I'd like guests to have access to my networked printers but not to other nodes on the network. If I put the printers on the guest network, will the computers on the private SSID be able to connect to them?

If relevant, one is an AIO monitored by a software client on each computer, and from which scans can be initiated at the console of the AIO. If on the guest network, will those unsolicited events reach the computer it's intended for?

Thanks in advance.

Never mind the initial

Never mind the initial question. I just created a guest network, connected a printer to it, and could print from a computer on the guest network but not from one on the private network. When I enabled guest access to the private network (why would somebody do that?), suspended documents printed immediately.

I'm using the native firmware. I plan to install dd-wrt in the future to enable a script that sends a magic packet to my Windows Home Server, when I attempt to connect to it from the internet. That allows me to suspend my server to save power.

For security reasons I want guest computers to be able to print, but not to connect to private network computers, or vice versa. My kids might invite friends to do homework together. They need to print but I don't trust their computers on my home network. After I install dd-wrt, can I enable private network computers to connect to printers on the guest network, but only to printers?
