Semi Brick?

Ok  I was trying to swich from toastman to shibby (which was working prev) so I decided to go from toast to dd-wrt (dd-wrt-wnr3500lv2.chk) to shibby which I've done in the past no problem, well the dd-wrt move semi killed my 3500lv2, I can get 3 ping replies out of with 30/30/30 or quick reset/plug-in reset (also for sits a grins tried 30/30/30/wps which does nothing) So after hard set quick or long I get at most 3 ping backs (192.168.1.1) then unreachable. I've tried tftp/put to stuff it in again during the boot window but no joy. Any suggestions?

Thanks @ $20 for a serial

Thanks @ $20 for a serial cable it would remain a brick, but for $5 I'll give it a shot, I'm hoping the "l" is not significant.. FT232R vs FT232RL ( http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00J1ZXR14/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?i... )

Got it, the cable worked fine

Got it, the cable worked fine, make sure you have windows update automatic on, installing the drivers direct, they would install but would not give me a virtual com port for some reason.

This cable is 4 wire black/red/green/white so pin 6/b 5/w 3/g no red (from memory if you get garbage swap the g/w) Putty serial connect (115200/8/1/nopar/noflow) cycle power, hit ctrl-c first 2 seconds and your in..

CFE> nvram erase
Cfe>reboot
CFE>tftpd

Plug in network cable, open tftp.exe 192.168.1.1/dd-wrt-wnr3500lv2.chk hit upgrade and BAM! Brick-Be-Gone!

Thanks scottfree1f, that

Thanks scottfree1f, that cable did the trick here also. Had to install the CoolDrives Vista driver to get it to work on Windows 8.1 Pro. (http://www.cooldrives.com/lib/cooldrives/vista-prolific-chip-driver-for-...)
