Couple of days ago I installed tomato-K26USB-1.27.9045MIPSR2-beta10-vpn3.6 on a new WNR3500L (briefly: installed dd-wrt.v24-13309_NEWD-2_K2.6_mini-WNR3500L.chk first and then updated to above firmware).
Using a USB mini-hub I connected a HP printer (MFP) and a WD 500GB My Book hard drive with Samba share. All units are working nicely.
FYI -- earlier I had a Asus WL-520GU with Tomato 1.27/TeddyBear mod firmware and I am finding much better throughput with the Netgear.
I have also enabled the FTP functionality and that is working very nicely, as well (have pumped GBs worth of test files with no problems).
Question: my understanding is that I should be able to do SFTP when connecting remotely to this box (NOT as admin, but to transfer files). How do I enable that? (I am currenly using WinSCP, which supports FTP and SFTP, to connect).
You would need to ad some kind of SFTP server to the router.
But you can SSH in using WinSCP and SCP mode to access the router.
