Hello everyone! I just installed tomato on my Netgear WNR3500L and I have a few questions. 1) After I installed it the blue LED on the front that show wireless is no longer on, but the wireless is working. How can I get it to be on and working again? 2) I tell it to password protect file sharing, but when I connect to it in Ubuntu it doesn't ask for a password, but just connects. How do I configure it so that a password is required to access the files? Thanks in advance!

The Wireless light not being on is a bug in the latest Beta. It should be fixed in the next release. It has nothing to do with the wireless actually working so you should be fine there.
To require a login/password for Samba you should be able to go to http://192.168.1.1/nas-samba.asp and tell it "Yes, Authentication required" and then enter in the info.
I've set it to "Yes, Authentication required", but it doesn't ask for a password.
I'm currently running Tomato 1.27.9045 BETA 10.
I am running Ubuntu 9.10. My login to Ubuntu isn't even close to the Tomato NAS on my 3500L. Tomato is 1.27 downloaded from myopenrouter.com. Authentication is set to required.
Mac OS X and Windows both require me to log into the NAS, however Ubuntu 9.10 navigates right into the NAS folders without any authentication required.
I can flash right back to DDWRT from Tomato, right?
I found smbpasswd via the terminal and created a new user/password, but it appears samba will only recognize one user at a time. Is there a way to support multiple users? Also, is there a way to assign a "valid users" option to the shares? I'm use to editing the smb.conf file manually. Is there such a thing in this release? I cannot find it if there is. BTW - I validated that username/passwords are by-passed using Nautilus in Ubuntu (10.04).
(I'm using 1.27 Beta 11)
In beta 11, the blue led is fixed!
Ah, no Samba in DDWRT... That is only in Mega and there is no Mega 3500L build... And if I go with the modded DDWRT it's not from BIG so I loose some features I'd like in DDWRT.
Is the MEGA on DDWRT site compatible with 3500L? I would really like SAMBA support, NFS support, VPN, and QoS in a single build :)
