Trouble Flashing R7000 To Tomato

Hi All -

New to the forums here.

This evening, I tried to flash my Nighthawk R7000 to Tomato (tomato-R7000-RT-AC6x--118-initial-64K.chk) -- I received this file from a friend, who used this same file to flash his router (same router). His worked. Mine did not--I backed up, and flashed. Did I miss a step? I've powered off, powered on, but it won't come up--I plug my ethernet into port 1 on the router and I'm getting the default Windows IP of 169.x.x.x.

Any way to recover from this? Can I flash to factory using the USB port on the router? I'd like to not have to spend another $200 on a router if possible..

Any help (and ridicule) you can provide are most appreciated.

I got it. Here is what I did;

I got it. Here is what I did;

Windows 7:

1. Run CMD as Administrator

2. arp -s 192.168.1.1 (or any address) (mac address) 11-22-33-44-55-66

3. set static IP address on my LAN card to 192.168.1.2, 255.255.255.0

4. Browse to 192.168.1.1, it DID flash to Tomato but for some reason it wasn't letting my wifi connect, and my LAN ports weren't working. Bad flash?

5. Administration/Upgrade -- roll back to R7000 Firmware.

6. Restore backup

7. Done
