I have two computers on my netgear 2.4g that worked great up until a few days ago. Now my computer which has windows xp can't find a network. I have turned the modem and router on and off and nothing (twice). The xp has a wg111v3. When i ping it, it says "destination host unavailable". The blue light on the wg111v3 is on and flashing.
Would appreciate any help or ideas.
Hi. I'm on the other computer. It has a WN111 with no problem. This computer is a VISTA 64-bit. It's the XP I'm having problems with. So, the router can't be broken if this VISTA computer is working, but the wg111v3 is not able to communicate with my router. And, the wg111v3 does show two routers out there (one mine), so it is scanning I believe.
Hi, Tathagata. Thank you for your help. I disabled my firewall, virus, etc. and no luck. I still cannot access the web. I cannot connect the computer directly to the router because it is upstairs. Strangely, it has worked for a year without any problems. Any other suggestions?
Update: I was able to connect to neighbor's router but NOT MY ROUTER! It's a Netgear 2.4G so it looks like the router may be blocking my adapter?
Hi, Tagatha. Thank you for helping me. I figured out that the passphrase was not correct. Put the correct one in and I'm connected. I've been trying for days to fix this. It's always something simple!
Hope you can help me too Tethagata, I also have a Netgear WG 111v3. I now wish to add other computers to it but i can't remember the password, oops. Any idears my friend ta
U can try a factory reset ... This will disable the security ...
U can then connect to your router and configure the security again ...
Make sure that u remeber it this time ... :)
