unable to connect to wnr3500l using telnet

Hi,

Today, i powered up a brand new router for wnr3500l.

I was able to open the web interface of the router using http://192.168.1.1.

However i was unable to connect to using "telnet 192.168.1.1"

the telnet client never succeeds in connecting to the telnet daemaon on the router.

does anyone know how to check the telnet daemon is enabled on the wnr3500l routr?

Thanks in advance...

Should be able to get it.

Should be able to get it. Maybe a hard reset will help? If not maybe try to SSH in at port 22.

Original Netgear Firmware

Original Netgear Firmware does not support telnet. Open soorce firmwares like DD-WRT, Open-WRT, Tomato support telnet.

Can you explain how to do this, please?

You might just want to get the DD-WRT or Tomato firmware.  They have SSH abilities built-in.
