Upgrading tomato

So i recently bought a new wnr3500l and installed tomato using this here guide http://www.myopenrouter.com/article/18972/Installation-and-Quick-Review-...

But it seems i am only on 1.27

I'd like to upgrade to the latest and greatest but since i bricked my last 3500l im reaching out for some guidance in this matter.

First of all can i simply upgrade from the tomato "upgrade" menu? and what firmware do any of you recomend.

Since you are already using

Since you are already using tomato upgrading can be done from the GUI. There's a big choice of firmware from different modders, my latest is 1.28.7481 - it has many new features over 1.27, which is very old. Use the USB EXT version or even one with the portal NOCAT and/or VPN builds. You will find other 3500L users on this forum to guide you if you have any problems.

Look on the forum for the download link, or follow this link and look for K26 MIPSR2 builds for RT-N16 and other newer routers. There's a readme_first file which tells you what's in the latest compiles.
