how many computers can network on router?
This works with my own laptop.
This morning I tried to network a visitor and it didn't work.
This evening, I tried a second visitor computer. This time it connected BUT my own laptop was DISCONNECTED.
I couldn't reconnect until I had turned OFF the visiting computer AND then i had to restart my own, which took a long time to re-connect because it was looking for the IP address.
Please answer this question: Should my router be able to have MORE than my main computer upstairs and my laptop downstairs? That is, can I successfully hook up three or even more computers using this router?
And if so, why did I have the problem described above?
Thank you.
below are the answers I receive thru the Forum
Now I am more confused. Your moderator did not explain things in a way I could understand.
On the link for the manual that he sent, there is NO WAN port, yet that was what I understood he suggested below:

N router would bad choice for hot spot for other than who uses more often. that is one reason20you do not see N access point in free wifi hot spot in business. more likely combination of wireless model and encryption. this something you need to play with it to find out for each person who has issues |
It is not clear from your post whether u want to connect them through wireless or through ethernet ... However from the following quotes in your post :
"Please answer this question: Should my router be able to have MORE than my main computer upstairs and my laptop downstairs? That is, can I successfully hook up three or even more computers using this router?"
I guess it z a wireless connection .. if it z wireless connection plz check if all the wireless clients r using the same parameters (such as channel, mode , security keys etc.) ...
For connection thru ethernet it shud not be aa prblm ...
Do let me know if u need any further info ...
thnx
