WNR3500 L2 only 54mbit transmit rate?

Hi,

I have a WNR3500L2 with the latest tomato firmware. On our macbooks that support up to AC I se the transmit rate as only 54mbit/s. So I went into the router and checked, I se only auto - 54mbit as possible selections on transmit rate. Is this correct? Shouldn't it support up to 300mbit?

I use WPA2 with AES.

I've used auto and n-only on the router. But the computers still only se 54mbit. It do come up as 802.11n always when I check. 

The rest i think is default. 

 

Any tips?
