I've been using Tomato 1.28 for several months on my WNR3500L with no issues, but loving the great enterprise features it gives me.
I noticed today for the first time that my wifi clients can't connect above 54Mbps. A laptop sitting 10 feet from the router only connected at 54. I used a few live discs and tried multiple OS's to make sure it wasn't a software/driver problem in Win7. It wasn't.
Did I miss something? Does using Tomato limit the speed of my WiFi to G???
TIA,
J
For completeness, I also connected the laptop to the neighbors' unsecured wifi and got 130Mbps+ from a few hundred or so feet away (shhh, don't tell), so the problem is in the router and not the clients.
I also investigated the WEP/TKIP/etc. speed limiting issues and most anyone here should know that Tomato won't let you run incompatible encryption with N speeds enabled. I double-checked to be sure and can say for double-checked-double-certain that it is not the issue.
Sorry about the double post. They were too close together for this one to be a bump, anyway.
Looking forward to ideas/suggestions,
J
