r7800 firmware updates

Hi... I have a firmware update question. I have an r7800 router with firmware .46 on it. Everything works great, fast and stable, but I really  need to update the firmware... .46 is getting really old and unsecure. If I follow the correct procedure, resets and data re-entry, etc. should I be able to update directly from .46 to current, or should I install one or more updates in-between? I thought I might do a factory update before installing anything, but I would really be grateful for the best procedure to get from .46 to something current. I have a pretty basic setup, only 4 devices and everything I don't need disabled.

Thanks for any help or information, I can defiinitely use it...Randell

Sorry... I meant a factory

Sorry... I meant a factory reset before installing anything in the previous post, not factory update!

That's about as vague and, sorry, useless, as it gets.  If this is in reference to stock firmware, best bet would have been to use netgear support and/or forums.

If you're using 3rd party, open source firmware - provide a name and full version.
