I wanted to switch to custom fw from factory net gear. I followed what I think was the instructions by using the r9000 v1.04.32HF.zip file. I uploaded that, and after a while rebooted the router. The power light is steady blinking now and typing 192.168.1.1 just gives me a connection timed out screen. Any help/advice would be appreciated.

I would suggest that you try doing 30/30/30 reset.

If you are able to login to your r9000 after the 30/30/30 reset. If not you can try https://kb.netgear.com/000059634/How-to-upload-firmware-to-a-NETGEAR-rou....
