Netgear R8000

Hi 

Before I commit to changing firmware from Original to DD-WRT I would like to know the following:

1) I have the R8000 connected to a Virgin Media cable Hub therefor the R8000 being the wireless router, what I would like to know is can I still install DD-WRT firmware?

    Yes, I just did that tonight and the only issues I am seeing are configuring the firmware for peak performance.
